Our Founder:
Nicole Carey, PhD, is an innovative social scientist and organizational strategist based in Indianapolis. She has founded three organizations: Indy Equity Collaborative, a research and strategy consulting firm; JUST Community Inc., a non-profit focused on community-based holistic wellness initiatives; and Anda Spanish, offering language and cultural education.
Her research in equitable leadership and coalition building, enriched by community engagement, utilizes design thinking and indigenous methodologies to forge effective systems-level strategies. As a member of the Indianapolis Public School Board in District 5,Nicole leverages this expertise to champion educational excellence and equity, drawing on her professional acumen. Driven by her role as a mother to five young children, whom she raises with her partner, Chris, Nicole is deeply committed to creating a more equitable world for the next generation. Her daily efforts are focused on shaping spaces that are fairer and more inclusive, ensuring a brighter future for her family and the wider community.
